Are you scared?

Fear is our primal response to ensure survival. When i remember that is my brain doing what it was designed for, I can see nothing has gone wrong. Fear is normal. It's my brain trying to help me, keeping me safe. I'm scared because I'm feeling under threat in some way. I can recognise & comfort the part that's sounding an alarm. Then I can direct it to focus on what I want, where i want to go. I know I can override it with the decision making part of the brain. In what way is fear holding you back? Acknowledge it, comfort it AND be deliberate in what you want to think on purpose. Here is one way I reframe fear when doing something new: I create comfort by exploring if this situation is really a threat to my existence or am I scared of feeling.... failure/embarrassed/disappointed. Then, once I know I am safe, I direct my brain to associate the discomfort of fear with moving forwards. It helps me breathe deeply. I trust myself more, judge my human brain less, access curiosity & courage. I find acceptance for where I am in this moment.

Success looks different for everyone. You get to choose what it means for you.
