Might you be ambitiously discontent? ( When I heard it, it struck a chord inside me - I get to the description further down...)

As a dedicated business owner, you can often find yourself wearing multiple hats, striving to improve and grow your venture.

I want you to know that I see you

Here are some other challenges you might identify with...

  • You may feel frustrated with the slow pace of growth and the effort it takes to manage everything.

  • You might sense a disconnect between your entrepreneurial aspirations and your current operational reality.

  • You may find yourself admiring others in your industry who appear to be thriving while you question your own success.

  • You may be feeling mentally and physically exhausted from the relentless pursuit of improvement and the pressures of running your business

  • You want to be a good parent (to growing children or fur babies), move your body AND have time for other people and activities that light you up but the juggle is real.

If you're anything like me, you’re ok to take action - in fact you are great at it - your challenge is slowing down.

(Perhaps we share this experience 😉 - Let's take a collective exhale here people - deep breath in, andddd breathe out)

Despite the challenges, you hold onto a sense of hope that there’s a way to overcome these obstacles and build a thriving business. You desire focus for your efforts, your time better spent.

And that feeling of fulfilment (dare I say success) at the end of each day - is it elusive?

Can you actually tell yourself, “I did a good job today”?

I understand how hard that can be. I’ve faced the same struggle, where my brain naturally gravitates to the gaps—where I am, versus where I want to be. My AI friend described it perfectly:

Ambitiously Discontent. It’s a term for those highly motivated individuals who are committed to continuous improvement yet often overlook their accomplishments.

Wow—that strikes a chord for me internally! You’ll be hearing me talk about this more - I like it. I’m going to borrow it.

It’s amusingly meta that I notice my own ambitious discontent while discussing the journey of constant learning and growth. But this isn’t about me; it’s more for you. (Ok maybe it's for us)

So tonight, as you lay your head on the pillow, I invite you to focus on everything you’ve accomplished today.

Remember, you did a good job today.

Full stop. Say it again.

You did good.

Come back to me if you ever need reminding.

BUSINESS REFLECTION PROMPTS:

Take a moment this evening to reflect on your day. Write down three specific things you accomplished today—big or small—that made a positive impact on your business or personal life.

How did each of these achievements contribute to your sense of fulfilment?
